Ad Campaign
A team brainstorm: invent a non-existent product and a full plan for promoting it. Trains collective inventiveness and fast creativity within specific constraints.
Full description
Setup and Launch
Invite the group to invent a product — a new item they want to bring to market. Announce the goal: create an advertising campaign by defining the product's functionality, its varieties, where it will be sold, a slogan, a jingle, and celebrities for the ad. At the end — a short presentation of the project to the whole group.
How It Works
Move through the stages sequentially, locking in the group's decisions at each step.
-
Choosing the product. Formulate what the invention is and what it's about.
-
Functionality. Briefly define exactly what the product does and what problem it solves.
-
Varieties. List possible versions or configurations.
-
Where we sell. Decide on what platforms and in what locations the product will be available.
-
Slogan. Come up with a memorable phrase.
-
Jingle. Agree on a short musical fragment or rhythm.
-
Celebrities. Determine what well-known personalities will appear in the ad.
Finish the exercise with a presentation: introduce the product and campaign elements in sequence, as a single unified project.
Key rules
Keep focus on one new product; all discussion is devoted to its promotion.
Go through the stages sequentially: functionality → varieties → points of sale → slogan → jingle → celebrities.
Finalize with a group presentation where all campaign elements are delivered in sequence.
