Setup and Launch
Choose four participants and ask the audience to name a location (a specific place). Briefly explain the mechanics: the song has a shared refrain "It's great here" that everyone shouts together; between refrains each participant takes turns naming the positives of the chosen location in a rap rhythm.
State the error rule: if someone stumbles or fails to deliver a line, instead of the next shared refrain everyone shouts the penalty phrase. The music doesn't stop; if needed you can skip a couple of bars to catch your breath. Play in series and track wins; the format goes until one participant gets two wins.
How It Goes
-
Start: launch the track. Everyone enters together with the refrain "It's great here".
-
Verses: between refrains participants take turns delivering short, clear positives about the location in rhythm, without pauses or repeats.
-
Error: if a participant stumbles, the next shared moment is the penalty shout. The music keeps playing; if needed the group skips a couple of bars and picks up the refrain again.
-
Score and continuation: after each segment note who scored a win and immediately launch the next run. Play until one participant gets two wins.
Key rules
Check the appropriateness of the profanity mechanic for the venue and group in advance; if there are restrictions, replace the error marker with a neutral shout.
Give a clear visual cue for the shared refrain so everyone enters in sync and doesn't fall off the beat.
Remind participants to say only positives about the chosen location; avoid sarcasm and negations β the focus is on support.
Watch diction and line length: shorter and clearer is better than long and slurred; don't push the pace faster than a comfortable rhythm.
If someone makes an error, the group doesn't pile on with extra jokes outside the mechanic β shared shout and straight back into the rhythm.
